LOTS of trail work this fall.
We had to reroute the 109 connector trail on the north side of route 11. We used to cross Rt 11, go a little ways and then turn left until we got up to what is known as the Lincoln Ridge road. Due to logging that will take place this winter, we had to make it so that we now turn right, go to the end of an existing logging road, had to excavate 1800 feet of an old skid trail (rocky as hell) that brought us out to a new clearcut. Turn left on an old logging road that was all overgrown and finally hit a new logging road that brings us back out to the Lincoln Ridge road.
The first three pics show a small group of us (six) working on brushing out the old road. More to follow in another email.
After we got the old road brushed out (had to be widened so that the excavator & groomers could get through), Bion Tolman came in with his excavator and grubbed out the 1800′ of skid trail plus removed the bad rocks from the 1200′ of old road. Took the better part of two full days with the excavator to get it done.
Bion Tolman does a fabulous job and we would like to thank him very much. (He never charges us for all of the work he actually does). We have used his services for the last 12 seasons for any trail work or bridge work that needs to be done.
